Project Background
Tyreline, a specialist in tyre services for heavy vehicles, recently expanded its fleet with four new tyre service trucks. To get them operational, each truck needed a fully integrated, diesel-powered compressor system, durable enough for remote work, reliable in high-demand conditions, and practical for mobile service delivery.
Air & Power was selected to carry out the full compressor fitouts, providing the right equipment and all associated plumbing, pipework, and custom platform fabrication.
The Problem
Tyreline’s new trucks required:
- A high-performance air compressor capable of supporting tyre inflation and service tools in field conditions
- A system that could run independently (diesel-powered), not relying on onboard vehicle power
- A compact and robust install, built for daily use and easy servicing
Each fitout needed to be consistent in performance across the fleet, while also taking into account practical truck layouts and operator access.
The Solution
Air & Power supplied and installed Pilot Air K30 diesel compressors across all four trucks. The K30D was selected for its proven performance in mobile tyre service environments, reliable air delivery, and strong build quality.
For trucks two to four, the installation included a custom-built mounting platform, designed in-house to combine:
- Pilot Air’s heavy-duty pump
- Yanmar diesel motor, known for its reliability in field conditions
The platform ensures secure mounting, vibration resistance, and easy access for maintenance. Each truck was also fitted with:
- Two hose reels, mounted for convenient tool access
- Galvanised pipework, for durable air distribution and long-term corrosion resistance
Technician Ash Paix led the installation, overseeing each stage of the fitout from mechanical placement to wiring and plumbing integration.

The Results
Tyreline now has four mobile tyre trucks equipped with:
- Reliable diesel-powered air systems, ready for remote work
- Clean, consistent installation, standardised across the fleet
- Easy-access hose reels and rugged pipework, built for heavy daily use
The fitouts were completed on schedule, with attention to practical layout and serviceability. Tyreline now benefits from faster deployment, improved uptime in the field, and consistency across their growing mobile operation.
