TFI Tyres, operating across locations including Maddington and Port Hedland, services a wide range of tyre applications, including large-format tyres that require higher-than-standard inflation pressure.
To speed up servicing and reduce downtime, TFI needed a way to generate more pressure from their existing compressed air system, without overhauling or upgrading their main compressor setup.
Air & Power had supplied a previous solution that worked well. When TFI needed another, they came straight back.
The Problem
Conventional compressors often struggle to deliver the high pressure needed for inflating oversized tyres, especially in field or workshop conditions where speed matters.
The customer needed:
- A way to double the pressure output from their existing compressor
- A solution that could handle high-volume inflation jobs efficiently
- A design that would fit within their current system without major changes
The Solution
Air & Power designed and manufactured a custom air multiplier, purpose-built to meet TFI’s pressure requirements.
Key features:
- Doubles the effective output pressure of the connected compressor
- Designed and fabricated in our Belmont workshop, tailored to TFI’s specs
- Standalone solution, no need to upgrade their compressor or modify the system layout
This wasn’t an off-the-shelf unit. It was a practical innovation, developed by our team to deliver higher performance from existing equipment, ideal for applications like heavy vehicle tyre inflation.
The Results
