Project Background
Integrity Tyres had been running two small piston compressors to keep up with daily demand in their tyre workshop. While the setup had served them for a time, it was no longer keeping pace with their growing workload.
The business needed a more consistent and dependable air supply, one that could support their day-to-day operations without the downtime, pressure fluctuation, and noise associated with smaller piston units.
The Problem
Two undersized piston compressors were working hard to deliver enough air, often running flat out just to keep up. This created:
- Inconsistent air pressure during peak usage
- Increased maintenance and wear
- Reduced efficiency and tool performance
The team at Integrity Tyres wanted to move to a proper workshop-grade system, but without overcapitalising or losing the backup redundancy they’d relied on previously.
The Solution
Air & Power supplied and installed a Pilot Air PAC15 rotary screw compressor, a compact but capable solution for workshops needing continuous, reliable airflow.
Why this model?
- Designed for constant-duty use in workshop environments
- Quieter and more efficient than piston models
- Small footprint for easy placement within existing site layout
To retain redundancy, one of the existing piston compressors was kept on standby. This ensured the team would never be left without air, even during servicing or maintenance of the new unit.

The Results
The new setup has delivered:
- Reliable, continuous airflow without pressure drop
- Lower noise levels, improving workshop conditions
- Reduced compressor strain and fewer runtime issues
The PAC15 handles peak load with ease, freeing up the team to focus on tyre work rather than air pressure concerns. Meanwhile, the backup unit remains available but hasn’t needed to step in since installation, a strong sign the right-sized upgrade hit the mark.
Why It Worked
This project worked because Air & Power matched the solution to the reality of the workshop, no overengineering, no unnecessary add-ons. Just a dependable screw compressor fit for purpose, with smart retention of their existing backup.
It’s another example of technician-led advice delivering long-term value.
Lessons for Other Tyre Workshops
If you’re still relying on one or two piston compressors to run your tyre business, there’s a good chance your setup is doing just enough, but not much more.
Rotary screw compressors, like the PAC15, offer a cost-effective upgrade path with:
- Longer service life
- Quieter operation
- Greater pressure stability
Air & Power helps WA tyre shops make the switch with clear advice, fast installs, and after-sales support that keeps your team focused on tyres, not equipment problems.
