How Air & Power Delivered a Space-Saving, Low-Noise Compressor Solution for a Regional WA Client

Project Background

For regional clients, equipment installation often comes with added complexity, limited space, limited access to support, and the need for durable solutions that just work.

A customer based in Collie, Western Australia, approached Air & Power with a specific requirement: they needed a compact, low-noise compressor setup that could fit within a small physical footprint, without compromising on air output or reliability.

The solution had to be clean, quiet, and tailored to site conditions.

The Problem

The client’s site offered very little available floor space for a standard compressor and receiver arrangement. In addition, the work environment required quiet operation to minimise noise in nearby areas.

Standard compressor and receiver setups are often side-by-side or occupy a wide base, which wasn’t an option in this case. The system also needed to be installed cleanly and robustly, with minimal service intervention once in place.

The Solution

Air & Power supplied a Pilot Air K17SI, a silent-series compressor specifically designed for reduced noise levels in light industrial or commercial environments.

To meet the space constraint, the unit was:

  • Fitted onto a 150-litre horizontal receiver, saving floor space
  • Mounted using a custom-fabricated bracket, designed and built in-house by Air & Power’s team to ensure a secure and stable fit

By stacking the compressor directly above the receiver, we delivered a compact vertical footprint, ideal for smaller work areas or tight storage rooms.

The K17SI unit combines effective airflow with whisper-quiet operation, making it well-suited to applications where compressors need to run in the background without disrupting nearby activity.

The Results

The final installation gave the client exactly what they needed:

  • Compact footprint suitable for tight spaces
  • Low operating noise from the silent-series unit
  • Sturdy, space-efficient setup using a custom bracket design

This job eliminated the need to modify the workspace or relocate equipment to accommodate compressed air, saving both time and additional fit-out costs.

The unit was delivered fully assembled, tested, and ready to run. Once installed, it required no additional infrastructure or soundproofing measures.

Why It Worked

The success of this job came down to customisation and fit-for-purpose thinking. Rather than forcing a standard setup into an unsuitable space, Air & Power built a tailored system that met all technical and practical requirements without overcomplication.

By fabricating a custom mounting bracket and combining proven equipment with smart layout design, we gave the client a long-term solution that won’t need revisiting any time soon.

Lessons for Other Businesses

Space constraints are common, especially in regional workshops, plant rooms, or mobile setups. But small space doesn’t mean limited options. With the right compressor and the right installation design, you can get full performance in a compact, low-maintenance package.

Air & Power continues to support clients across WA with small-footprint compressor setups, custom fabrication, and solutions built to suit real site conditions, not just spec sheets.
